Po?tovani sudionici V. Hrvatskih svjetskih igara,

s ponosom i veseljem Vas obavje?tavamo da smo svojim ustrajnim anga?manom i trudom uspijeli zatvoriti financijsku  konstrukciju za realizaciju, odnosno odr?avanje V. Hrvatskih svjetskih igara. S obzirom na inflaciju i pove?anje tro?kova   odr?avanja igara, u cilju racionalizacije tro?kova nastale su neke manje kozmeti?ke promjene u programu samih igara te Vam u nastavku poruke dostavljamo sve relevantne informacije vezane za V. HSI. Informacije vezane za V. Hrvatske svjetske igre:

1. V. HSI traju od 25. do 29. srpnja 2023. godine,

2. tijekom odr?avanja V. HSI za sve sudionike osiguran je smje?taj i prehrana,

3. natjecatelji dolaze na registraciju dana 25. srpnja 2023. godine te je za iste toga dana osiguran ru?ak i ve?era. Za    sve ostale dane, osim 29. srpnja, osigurana su sva tri obroka. Dana 29. srpnja predvi?en je odlazak sudionika te je za    iste osiguran doru?ak,

4. odvijanje sportskih aktivnosti predvi?eno je za dane 26., 27., 28. i 29. srpnja. Potrebno je napomenuti da ?e se 29. srpnja realizirati natjecanje u samo jednoj disciplini – krosu,

5. natjecatelji iz prekomorskih zemalja (Kanada, Paragvaj, Peru, Bolivija, ?ile, SAD, Argentina, Australija) dolaze na registraciju dana 24. srpnja 2023. godine te je za iste toga dana osigurana ve?era i smje?taj,

6. ukoliko za to postoji potreba sudionici mogu do?i i ranije od gore navedenih datuma, odnosno ostati i jedan dan du?e, s tim da u tom slu?aju sami snose tro?ak smje?taja i prehrane.

Napomena: prekomorske zemlje dostaviti popis. Molimo vas da nam dostavite popis sudionika koji namjeravaju do?i izvan predvi?enih termina odr?avanja HSI koji ?e smjestaj i prehranu pokriti vlastitim sredstvima. Zbog organizacije smje?taja i prehrane popis sudionika dostaviti ?e se nadle?nim tijelima u studentskom centru. Jedan dan smje?taja i prehrane (tri obroka) u studentskom domu iznosi 37,50 eura po osobi. (ru?ak i ve?era po 9 eura, no?enje s doru?kom 19,5 eura). Boravi?na pristojba u iznosu 1.59 ? po osobi/no?enju i obvezno osiguranje od 0,13 ? po osobi/no?enju.

Otvorena srca i uz srda?nu dobrodo?licu ?elim svim sudionicima sretan i uspje?an dolazak.

Dear Team Canada Athletes

Dear Team Canada athletes, we have been advised by the government of Croatia of a slight change in dates for the hosting of the Croatian World Games.

Please be advised that the Games will officially conclude with a closing ceremony on Friday, July 28, 2023. Not on Saturday, July 29th as previously planned.

However, the cross-country run will still be held on Saturday, July 29th at 10:00am.  So yes, they will officially end the Games and then host one more competition on Saturday morning?.

This means that everyone will have breakfast on campus on Saturday morning, then those that wish to complete the Cross-Country run/walk may do so at 10:00am and then be prepared to move out of campus.  For anyone not participating in Cross Country you may of course leave right after breakfast. If you need to, you may stay on campus until 6:00pm.

This is a change to the original schedule that saw us staying on campus until Sunday, July 30th.

This change in scheduling means that departure from campus takes place on Saturday, July 29th.

Should you wish to stay on campus one or more nights, you may do so by booking directly with the Studentski Dom at a cost of $19.50 euro (includes breakfast) plus city tax of $1.59 euro and insurance cost of $0.13 euro for a total of $22.22 euro (appx. $32 CAD) per person. A stay with three full meals comes in at a cost of $37.50 euro (appx. $56.25 CAD).  For anyone needing extended accommodation, you may book this directly with the Studentski Dom on site when we arrive.

As this impacts your onward travel, we wanted to advise you of the change in scheduling immediately.  Otherwise, our scheduling remains the same.  A final event itinerary will be provided on June 17th.

Dear Mr. Wong,

On February 12th, 2005 a Roundtable discussion was held between the Canadian Croatian Congress (CCC) and the Honourable Raymond Chan, Federal Minister of State (Multiculturalism) regarding the preservation of the Croatian heritage in Canada. On the topic of language promotion, Mr. Chan referred the Canadian Croatian Congress (CCC) both the British Columbia Ministry of Education and the British Columbia Ministry of Multiculturalism.

The Canadian Croatian Congress (CCC) interested in working with the British Columbia Government to establish a Croatian language Curriculum to be offered to students in Grades 9 to 12. The inclusion of the Croatian language as a secondary school credit would allow students of Croatian heritage an opportunity to maintain their cultural, historical and linguistic ties with their community and to allow other students a chance to develop their linguistic skills.

The aim of this Curriculum is to provide students with the opportunity to expand their basic knowledge of the Croatian language and culture which is over 1300 years old and could be a associated with the heritage language school program offered by the Croatian Parish in Vancouver. We are planning to base our Curriculum on a program successfully used for over 30 years in the Province of Ontario.

This initiative is supported by the Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Waterloo, Croatian Embassy in Ottawa, the Croatian Heritage Foundation in Zagreb, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Education) for the Republic of Croatia, the Croatian Language School in Vancouver and Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Parish in Vancouver.
