{"id":220,"date":"2007-06-23T21:44:00","date_gmt":"2007-06-23T21:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crocc.org\/?p=220"},"modified":"2023-02-23T00:11:38","modified_gmt":"2023-02-23T00:11:38","slug":"trideset-godina-hrvatskoga-jezika-u-srednjim-skolama-ontarija-canada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crocc.org\/en\/trideset-godina-hrvatskoga-jezika-u-srednjim-skolama-ontarija-canada\/","title":{"rendered":"TRIDESET GODINA HRVATSKOGA JEZIKA U SREDNJIM \u0160KOLAMA ONTARIJA CANADA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Vinko Grubi\u0161i\u0107<br>TRIDESET GODINA HRVATSKOGA JEZIKA U SREDNJIM \u0160KOLAMA ONTARIJA<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sredinom 1976. hrvatski jezik postao je dijelom srednjo\u0161kolskoga programa u Ontariju (Kanada) zahvaljuju\u0107i tada\u0161njoj ministrici za \u0161kolstvo Betty Stevenson i lobisti\u010dkim naporima hrvatskih ljudi, me\u0111u kojima je djelovao i najplodniji pisac ud\u017ebenika za u\u010denje hrvatskoga jezika i kulture u emigraciji u XX. stolje\u0107u \u2013 dr. Vinko Grubi\u0161i\u0107 \u2022 \u0160kole hrvatskoga jezika i kulture djeluju diljem Kanade i to u Victoriji, Vancouveru, Edmontonu, Calgaryju, Winnipegu, Thunder Bayu, Sault St. Marie, Sudburryju, Montrealu, Ottawi, Norvalu, Georgetownu, Mississaugi, Bramptonu, Torontu, Oakvilleu, Hamiltonu, Kitcheneru, Londonu, St. Thomasu i Windsoru trude\u0107i se da generacije mladih kanadskih Hrvata, privr\u017eenih svojoj novoj domovini, zavole i domovinu svojih roditelja i djedova<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Iste ki\u0161ne ve\u010deri kad sam stigao u Kanadu, 1. studenoga 1975. nazvao me do tada mi potpuno nepoznati profesor Zdravko Robert Megler i, nakon kra\u0107ega uvoda, napomenuo da \u0107emo se vidjeti idu\u0107i dan, nakon sv. mise, ispred hrvatske crkve. Danas pokojni prof. Megler bio je predsjednik udru\u017eenja \u00abCanadian Teachers of the Croatian Heritage\u00bb, a razlog njegova sastanka je sljede\u0107i: postoji mogu\u0107nost da se uvede hrvatski jezik kao nastavni predmet u srednje \u0161kole provincije Ontario. Za to treba ispuniti sljede\u0107e uvjete:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a) imati dovoljan broj zainteresiranih u\u010denika;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>b) program prihva\u0107en od Ministarstva za \u0161kolstvo i kulturu provincije Ontario;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>c) kvalificirana srednjo\u0161kolskoga profesora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Odmah smo se dali na vi\u0161estruki posao. Trebalo je najprije sastaviti programe za pet razli\u010ditih razreda (od 9. do 13, jer tada je provincija Ontario imala i 13. razred) i to na petom stupnju, \u0161to je omogu\u0107avalo u\u010denicima pristup sveu\u010dili\u0161tu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u010cetrdesetak kutija knjiga \u0161to sam ih poslao iz \u0160vicarske nisu jo\u0161 stigle pa je to ote\u017eavalo rad na programima. No sretna je okolnost bila da mi je na\u0161 prijatelj, sve\u0107enik isto\u010dnoga obreda vl\u010d. Bo\u017eidar Vidov stavio svoju bogatu knji\u017enicu na raspolaganje, a i moje su knjige stigle prije nego \u0161to sam o\u010dekivao. Programi su prire\u0111eni prema svim tada\u0161njim \u0161kolskim standardima i kriterijima, na \u010demu nam je od ogromne pomo\u0107i bila gospo\u0111a Miriam di Giuseppe, Hrvatica koja je bila stru\u010dnjakinja upravo za pripravu \u0161kolskih programa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>S Ministarstvom se sura\u0111ivalo u ti\u0161ini jer smo znali kako \u0107e tada\u0161nji jugoslavenski konzulat i tada\u0161nji profesor slavistike, bolje re\u010deno \u00absrpsko-hrvatskog\u00bb Milan Sudu\u010dki, sve sile ulo\u017eiti da sprije\u010de uvo\u0111enje hrvatskoga jezika u srednje \u0161kole. Nakon manje od mjesec dana tada\u0161nja ministrica za \u0161kolstvo i kulturu Betty Stevenson prihvatila je programe i sada je preostalo ispunjavanje dvaju preostalih uvjeta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jugokonzulat i Surdu\u010dki su upravo bjesomu\u010dno nastojali dokazati kako bi bilo apsurdno uvesti jedan jezik \u00abkoji ne postoji\u00bb. Na\u0161 je odgovor na takve primjedbe bio vrlo jasan: ako ti drugovi ili gospoda ne znaju ustavnu definiciju jezika zemlje koju predstavljaju, to je njihov problem. Imali smo prijevod stavaka o jeziku i jezicima jugoslavenskoga kao i hrvatskoga Ustava. Uz to smo nagla\u0161avali da kanadski porezni obveznici hrvatskoga podrijetla \u017eele da njihova djeca u\u010de jezik svojih predaka, a to je hrvatski jezik. I to je bio najja\u010di \u00abdokaz\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Neki teorijski radovi prof. Stjepana Babi\u0107a te Dalibora Brozovi\u0107a mogli su biti uvijek od koristi, ali se zaista nije imalo smisla upu\u0161tati ni u kakve velike diskusije o postojanju ili nepostojanju ovog ili onog, jer bi to bilo jednostavno beskorisno gubljenje vremena. Kako sam u me\u0111uvremenu polo\u017eio profesorski ispit (jer doktorat vam ne daje pravo da predajete na srednjoj \u0161koli, za \u0161to je potreban poseban ispit srednjo\u0161kolskog profesora da dobijete \u00abLetter of Standing\u00bb, a onda nakon dvjesto radnih dana, odnosno tisu\u0107u i dvjesto sati da dobijete \u00abTeacher Certificate\u00bb) s pravom predavanja posvuda gdje su engleski i francuski nastavni jezici, pitanje profesora smo rije\u0161ili.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ostalo je na prvi pogled lak\u0161e, a u biti najkompliciranije pitanje u\u010denika. Prof. Megler u suradnji s nekim drugim hrvatskim entuzijastima, od kojih su se uvijek isticali Jerko Neki\u0107 i Marin Sopta, bili su od velike pomo\u0107i. Tu su nam se pridru\u017eili Stjepan Mi\u0161ljenovi\u0107 te bra\u010dni par Jelena i Nikola Vrdoljak. Djevojke i mladi\u0107i iz njihove plesne grupe \u00abZrinski-Frankopan\u00bb gotovo su se svi upisali u hrvatsku \u0161kolu. Tako je po\u010detkom srpnja 1976. hrvatski jezik postao dio \u0161kolskoga programa ljetne \u0161kole, a ve\u0107 u rujnu bila su dva razreda hrvatskoga jezika i kulture u Torontu. Ljetna \u0161kola u Torontu zavr\u0161ila je priredbom, odnosno izvedbom narodne drame \u00abRobinja\u00bb, u koju su se uklju\u010dili gotovo svi u\u010denici.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ovaj se srednjo\u0161kolski program sjajno uklapao u rad tada vrlo aktivne hrvatske prosvjetne organizacije HI\u0160AK (Hrvatske izvandomovinske \u0161kole Amerike, Australije i Europe) kojoj je na \u010delu dugi niz godina vrijedni po\u017ertvovni fra Ljubo Krasi\u0107, a od velike je pomo\u0107i bilo i nekoliko seminara koje je HI\u0160AK organizirao, koji su uklju\u010divali sva zna\u010dajnija mjesta gdje je djelovala \u0161kola hrvatskoga jezika i folklora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kako je \u0161kolski program hrvatskoga jezika prihvatilo Ministarstvo, ve\u0107 od rujna se Torontu priklju\u010dila i Mississauga, gdje su bila dva razreda hrvatskoga jezika, a kao i u Torontu u dvama razredima bilo je vi\u0161e \u0161kolskih programa. Tu je ogromni posao obavio Mate Bogoje, koji je organizirao dva razreda u\u010denika koji su poha\u0111ali hrvatski jezik u Missisaugi ne tako davne 1976. godine. Po\u010detnici u hrvatskome jeziku i u\u010denici slabijega poznavanja hrvatskoga i\u0161li bi u jedan razred, a napredni u drugi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trebalo je tako u istom razredu slijediti nekoliko programa. Kasnije su \u0161kole u drugim mjestima uvele hrvatski kao nastavni predmet, u Kitcheneru, Bramptonu, Hamiltonu, Ottawi&#8230; Programi su se mijenjali, upotpunjavali&#8230; Kad je Hrvatska postala slobodna i demokratska dr\u017eava, sve je postalo daleko lak\u0161e, sve se \u2013 rekli bismo \u2013 normaliziralo, a suradnja s Hrvatskim konzulatom u Missisaiugi omogu\u0107uje nove polete i nova ostvarenja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prilog:<br>RATIONALE 1<br>(Croatian III &#8211; Revised Course)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of the course is to provide students (regardless of their ethnic affiliation or age) with the opportunity to expand their basic knowledge of the Croatian language, which is spoken in the Republic of Croatia, Yugoslavia, and to learn more about the Croatian culture which is 1300 years old. The following five groups of students could benefit from the third level of the course. All would, of course, have successfully completed the Croatian II, or its equivalent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I. Students who are affiliated with a Croatian Canadian Community by birth and wish to preserve their heritage. Inclusion of Croatian Language in a Secondary School Program is the most effective way in which the Croatian Community can maintain their heritage and culture in their new homeland, and at the same time, reinforce their feeling of belonging to our Canadian society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Students who become affiliated with the Croatian Canadian Community by marriage and want to continue to develop their communication skills and hence strengthen their family relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Students from other ethnic origins who are affiliated with the Croatian Canadian Community by interest (members of folk dance groups, soccer clubs, etc.) and want to expand and improve their knowledge for travel in Croatia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Students who intend to study History at the University level and major in the Medi- terranean or Central European History, Croatia in particular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Students who intend to study Slavic languages at the University level in Canada or abroad and use the Croatian as one subject, or as the bridge to the Russian language, or to the Old Slavic language which is a compulsory subject at any Slavic Institute in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>II. GENERAL AIMS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(a) The course will deal, at a senior-intermediate level with all four communication skills but with increased emphasis on reading and writing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(b) The course will involve continued study of Croatian history, geo\u00acgraphy and the introduction of classical, renaissance and Croatian dialectal literature selections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>III. OBJECTIVES<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At this level, the language of instruction is Croatian. Students successfully completing Croatian III should be able to demonstrate the&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Summary<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>THIRTY YEARS OF THE CROATIAN LANGUAGE IN THE SECONDARY SCHOOLS OF ONTARIO (CANADA)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In mid 1976 the Croatian language became a part of the secondary school program in Ontario (Canada) thanks to the Minister of Education at the time, Betty Stevenson, and the lobbying effort of Croatians, including those of Vinko Grubi\u0161i\u0107, the most prolific writer of textbooks for the Croatian language and culture in the Croatian communities abroad in the 20th century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This secondary school program dovetailed brilliantly with the activity of the, at the time very active, Croatian educational organisation HI\u0160AK (Croatian Schools of America and Canada) led for many years by the worthy and selfless Friar Ljubo Krasi\u0107. Also of great help were the several seminars organised by HI\u0160AK that included all of the more significant places where Croatian language and culture schools were active in the Croatian communities abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Croatian language and culture schools are active across Canada, in Victoria, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Sault St. Marie, Sudbury, Montreal, Ottawa, Norval, Georgetown, Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto, Oakville, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, St. Thomas and Windsor, all making the effort to instil into a gen- eration of young Canadian Croatians, dedicated to their new homeland, a love of the Croatian homeland of their parents and grandparents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Res\u00famen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TREINTA A\u00d1OS DE ENSE\u00d1ANZA DE IDIOMA CROATA EN LAS ESCUELAS SECUNDARIAS DE ONTARIO (CANAD\u00c1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A mediados de 1976 el idioma croata comenz\u00f3 a formar parte del programa de ense- \u00f1anza secundaria en Ontario (Canad\u00e1) gracias a la gesti\u00f3n de la ministra de instrucci\u00f3n p\u00fablica de aqu\u00e9lla \u00e9poca, Betty Stevenson, y a la actividad de los \u201elobbys\u201c croatas. En dichos lobbys actuaba el dr. Vinko Grubi\u0161i\u0107, uno de los autores mas prol\u00edficos de manu- ales de idioma y cultura croata para la emigraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este programa de ense\u00f1anza secundaria se adaptaba de modo excelente al trabajo de la muy activa organizaci\u00f3n cultural croata \u201eEscuelas croatas fuera de la Patria &#8211; de Am\u00e9rica, Australia y Europa\u201c (ECfP), encabezada durante muchos a\u00f1os por el diligente y sacrificado fray Ljubo Kra\u0161i\u0107. Fue grande el aporte de seminarios organizados por la ECfP en todos los lugares significativos donde exist\u00edan escuelas de idioma y cultura croata para la di\u00e1spora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Actualmente, dichas materias se ense\u00f1an a lo largo y ancho de Canad\u00e1 en escuelas de Victoria, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Sault St. Marie, Sudbury, Montreal, Ottawa, Norval, Georgetown, Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto, Oakville, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, St. Thomas y Windsor.
